SANJIESAN CREATOR / BUYING GUIDE

Choose a display font using the words in your artwork

A font specimen demonstrates someone else’s words. Your title may contain different curves, punctuation or accented characters. TypeTogether’s Bree page provides a type tester, glyph information and purchase options. Use it as one concrete candidate for Latin-script display lettering, while testing the exact words and uses your artwork requires. Do not assume that the family name alone establishes coverage for every language.

Type the actual title and secondary line

Use the title, a short supporting line and any punctuation that must appear. Compare them at the intended sizes, not only in the tester’s largest display. Inspect distinctive letters that attract attention or make a word ambiguous. If the design needs a calmer alternate, check the actual available glyphs and application support. Avoid buying a whole family solely because one specimen word looks appealing in a heavy weight.

Check the exact language and style files

List the characters and styles needed in this project, including names, accents and numbers. Check the selected package’s coverage rather than treating a related script family as automatically included. For a bilingual layout, evaluate the companion type independently and compare their visual relationship. Ask whether the intended application supports the file type and features you plan to use. A browser tester is a useful preview, not a completed application compatibility test.

Match the purchase to the way the type is used

Describe whether the font will create a flat illustration, remain editable for collaborators or be embedded in another product. Ask the foundry which exact licence covers that use and who needs access to font files. Do not infer embedding or team distribution from permission to make a static image. Choose the smallest package that covers the necessary styles and confirmed use, with optional weights justified by an actual layout rather than the appeal of a larger bundle.
