Record a drawing demonstration with the needed controls visible

A canvas-only recording may look polished while concealing the layer change that explains the demonstration. Krita’s settings documentation describes showing or hiding dockers, including panels used for layers and brush resources. Use that flexibility to plan one short original lesson. The cleanest recording view is useful only when it still shows the decision being taught.

Name one teachable change

Choose a small demonstration, such as placing a shadow on a separate layer while preserving a flat colour. State what the viewer should understand at the end. List the visible evidence needed: the original shape, the selected layer and the changed stroke, for example. Keep unrelated settings out of the lesson. A short focused explanation is easier to follow than a tour of every panel in the application.

Keep the relevant panel readable

Prepare a view where the necessary panel is large enough to identify at the intended video size. Hide unrelated dockers if that helps, using the documented controls. If switching to a canvas-focused view, explain the layer decision before hiding it and show the result afterwards. Do not rely on a tiny cursor movement over an unreadable label to communicate the essential step. The recording should support ordinary viewing without constant pausing and guessing.

Watch the lesson as a new learner

Review the exported segment at its normal display size with the spoken explanation or captions you intend to include. Check whether the tool or layer change can be followed from what is actually visible. If a step was omitted, record a clear insert or revise the explanation instead of implying it happened on screen. Keep any sample artwork’s status and source accurate. A teaching video should reveal a useful process, not manufacture a continuous performance that was never recorded.
