Leave a complete reading moment in an animated title

A title may be visible throughout a motion sequence without ever becoming easy to read as a whole. Adobe’s After Effects text documentation describes animators and selectors that affect chosen parts of a text range. Use that flexibility to plan a complete reading moment. The animation should introduce the words and then give them room to communicate.

Separate the three jobs of the sequence

Use an original short title and make a simple timing sketch for its arrival, its readable state and its departure. Keep the wording fixed. Decide when a first-time viewer can see the complete phrase without movement competing for attention. A sequence that is long overall may still have an extremely short readable interval. Evaluate that interval directly rather than assuming total duration answers the reading question.

Compare a quiet hold with constant motion

Make one version where the title settles into its intended layout and another where small motion continues. Keep size, contrast and wording comparable. Watch at the actual output size and read the phrase once without pausing. If residual motion pulls the eye away from a key word, simplify it. An elaborate entrance does not require an equally elaborate hold; the quiet section can be the part that makes the whole design useful.

Review the ending before the next image

Place the title between its real preceding and following material. Check that the exit does not begin before the full phrase can be understood, and that the next shot does not introduce another competing text task immediately. Keep a still reference of the intended title state for later revisions. If the words change, review the timing again rather than treating the old animation as automatically suitable for a longer phrase.
